Florence Elliott
Biography:
(fl. 1889-1895)
A comic contralto, Florence Elliott was a "humourist of the refined school" according to Philadelphians who saw her perform in the final decades of the 19th century. A pupil of the singer Caroline McCaffery School in Philadelphia, Elliott performed more in the auditoriums of churches than on the music hall stage. David S. Shields/ALS
