Mildred Douglas

Biography:

Not to be confused with the trick riding cowgirl who appeared in numbers of Tom Mix westerns, showgirl Mildred Douglas was one of Gertrude Hoffman's fledgling dancers whom the Shubert Brothers used as eye candy in their revues of 1926 and 1927.  Like most of Hoffman's proteges, Douglas had few qualms about displaying her body, so appeared in semi-nudity in the 1926 Artists and Models. She did feature dancing in the long-running "Temptations of 1926," and closed out her Broadway career as one of the chorines in "A Night in Spain." David S. Shields/ALS
